Lab

The Public Informatics & News Media Lab, located in the Anderson Computing Complex, Room B-14, functions as the GIS lab for the campus.

There are 24 computers available in this lab, all of which use Windows XP and have Pentium 3 processors, 20 Gigabyte Hard Drives, and 512 MB of RAM. In addition to the software common to all the labs at the Anderson Computing Complex, which includes SAS, SPSS, Systat, and Microsoft Office XP (except for Publisher, which is not available in B-14), the computers in B-14 also have ArcGIS 9.1, Visual Studio .NET, Visual Studio 6, MS SQL Server, Rational Rose, and more. (Click here for the full description.)

CAP and Kogod Information Systems have priority use for this lab, but all faculty are able to reserve it for their classes. (Click here for more information about the ACC and its policies.)

When a class is not in session in B-14, you can request permission from the lab attendants to use the computers.
